3. What is Daylight Savings Time? Why is it used? Where is it used? Why is it controversial in Saskatchewan?
It is the practice of temporarily advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. Mainly clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. It is used because adding daylight to the afternoons benefits retailing, sports and other activities that enjoy sunlight after working hours. But it cause problems for farming, evening entertainment and other occupations tied to the sun. Traffic fatalities are reduced when there is extra afternoon daylight. It reduces incandescent lighting , modern heating and cooling usage. It is used in pretty much all over the globe other than Saskatchewan, some places in Asia, Hawii  and some provinces in Africa, South America and Australia. It is controversial in Saskatchewan because it is the only place in Canada that doesn't use it and people think we should change.
